Konami is suspected of planning to bring back the original Silent Hill Trilogy on modern consoles after the company's recent interview.

Previously, the studio released a free PlayStation 5 game Silent Hill: The Short Message and the first look for the Silent Hill 2 remake during the January 2024 State of Play.

Silent Hill Trilogy on Latest Consoles

Silent Hill was widely popular after its release between 1999 and 2003. All three games were applauded and known for being one of the most popular horror games of all time.

In an interview during Silent Hill: The Short Message, HEXADRIVE level design director Rika Miyatami revealed that Konami has reached out to the studio for a possible revival of the trilogy to the current platforms.

According to Miyatami, the discussion eventually led to the suggestion of remaking the title. The production reportedly prepared a quality mock-up demo but the plans did not work out as planned for this particular remake.

Other Silent Hill Title's Future

While HEXADRIVE was initially about to port the original trilogy, the plan began shifting to the Silent Hill 2 proof-of-concept and Silent Hill: The Short Message. Currently, the status of porting the other titles is still unclear.

Regardless, the interview hinted that Konami has found an interest in making the Silent Hill trilogy available on the latest gaming consoles. It could be through new games, remakes, and ports of the original titles.

Fans of the studio can still look forward to the franchise's future as the company is already gearing up for Silent Hill F, as early as last year.
