Nintendo Switch 2 Details to be Revealed in 2025

Over the past months, several rumors have been surrounding Nintendo's next-generation console. Previously, it was reported that Switch 2 would be released in the fall of 2024. Afterward, a rumor circulated that it would be released within the first quarter of 2025.

Nintendo Switch has already celebrated its ninth anniversary in the market. The console was first announced in March 2015.

Over the years, the console has been upgraded to fit the latest advancements. The original Switch has already sold more than 130 million units since it was released in the market in 2017.

Nintendo Direct Shifts Focus to Software Update

In an X post, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa announced that the upcoming Direct event will be focused on software line-up for the next half of the year. "But please be aware that there will be no mention of the Nintendo Switch successor during that presentation," he added.

Prior to the upcoming Direct showcase, Nintendo has been busy releasing games to its lineup. Titles such as Princess Peach: Showtime! and Mario vs. Donkey Kong were launched earlier this year. Other games were also remade such as Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and Luigi's Mansion 2 HD.

Switch fans have been waiting for a more powerful console for the past years. The latest major hardware upgrade was the revised OLED model that was released in 2021.
