'Horizon: Zero Dawn' PS4 Exclusive Gets New Release Date; Game's Delay Is Beneficial

For fans anticipating "Horizon: Zero Dawn" from Guerrilla Games, they have to continue playing the waiting game. It is worth noting that "Horizon: Zero Dawn" was first unveiled at Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) last year. It acquired a huge following since then, as fans saw the game's potential.

Originally, the game was expected to launch sometime this year, however the game's release is being pushed back to next year. According to CNET, Sony broke the news, stating new release date for the PS4 Exclusive is set for February 28, 2017.

Hermen Hulst, the studio's Managing Director, said that their main priority is to guarantee that "Horizon: Zero Dawn" lives up to its expectations. From the visuals down to the quality of the gameplay, they need to ensure that these are well-covered prior to the releae of the PS4 exclusive.

Cinema Blend, on the other hand, reports that the delay of "Horizon: Zero Dawn" should not come as a surprise. Games similar to "Horizon" need the right resources and enough time to achieve its goals. Hence, a year's delay is far more realistic than the originally announced date.

"Horizon: Zero Dawn" will have gamers playing the hunter-archer Aloy, as they go up against massive robotic creatures. The game's gist basically revolves around the dominance of technology over mankind. Fans will find themselves in a post-apocalyptic setting packed with chaos not even today's society could ever imagine.

While this can be quite frustrating to the fans, it should still make them more excited, as the company is really putting all of its resources into the game. Besides, an extended trailer for "Horizon: Zero Dawn" has been released, which has piqued fan's interest. Check it out below!
