The Apple Watch 2, much like the iPhone 7, is rumored to look pretty much like its predecessor. However, the Cupertino-based company has more than a few upgrades to make to the wearable. There is no question that underneath the surface, the device will come anew with a set of improved and additional features.

What's New?

According to Know Your Mobile, the upcoming Apple Watch 2 will feature a new barometer sensor, as well as its own GPS tracker, which will at least allow users to leave their iPhones at home during a run, jog or bike ride. The new wearable will also include a blood oxygen level sensor and a blood pressure sensor, in addition to the original heart rate sensor.

What's Changing?

Reportedly, the Apple Watch 2 will come with better waterproofing. That is while original wearable could get wet, taking it to depths was unthinkable - which is now a likely possibility. Further, the battery life has also been extended, while the process is reportedly faster.

What's Missing?

Aesthetically, the Apple Watch 2 will miss out on a redesign. If all rumors are true, the upcoming wearable will look strikingly similar to the original smartwatch. Although, Apple is expected to provide more band options to partner with the slightly thinner face.

Underneath the face of the wearable, however, there is one thing missing that buyers would have benefited from tremendously. That is, a direct LTE connection.

According to Bloomberg, Apple has been working on getting the wearable untethered to the iPhone. In fact, the company has already talked to various network carriers to make this happen. Unfortunately, the battery life of the Apple Watch just cannot take the drainage of an LTE connection.

When Is It Coming?

The Apple Watch 2 is expected to arrive sometime before the end of the year. It is highly possible that the device will be announced alongside the iPhone 7 on September 7th.
