HTC To Unveil New Smartphone On September 20

HTC has been making little announcements for its new line of mid-range phones for a while now. The most recent of which, is a short teaser video indicating exactly when the two new devices will be unveiled. From the same, it is speculated that the public will get their first official look at the Desire 10 Pro and Desire 10 Lifestyle.

What The Video Proves

As GSM Arena notes, the unit has been speculated to sport a fingerprint scanner at the back end of the handheld, which the video from HTC clearly confirms. Furthermore, the video makes a clear message when it says #BeEdgier, which is likely to be a clue to the handhelds' designs.

Nevertheless, the event will take place on September 20, at 8am BST.

What Else Is There?

According to Pocket-Lint, there will be two devices that will be released - the HTC Desire 10 Pro and the HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle. However, most of the news are focusing on the Lifestyle, which is speculated to be the more low-end of the two.

Because it is will be a mid-range device, it is likely that the HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle will sport only the 400 series of the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. Meanwhile, it will run on various RAM offerings, depending on the location of the buyer. It is expected, however, to come with either 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage, or 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. But as 16 GB of memory is become less and less popular, HTC will likely to have a microSD slot for more storage.

The rear and front cameras of the HTC Desire 10 is probably going to be 13 megapixel and 5 megapixels respectively. The unit is expected to come out of the box sporting an Android Marshmallow interface.

And while it will not hold a candle to the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S7 in terms of power, it is expected to blow away the competition in terms of audio with its signature BoomSound.
