'Resident Evil 7' Release Date, Gameplay: Pre-Tokyo Game Show Confirms Nostalgic Weapons; Don't Expect Microtransactions

"Resident Evil 7" is set to launch for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on Jan. 24, 2017 after it was shown in the pre-Tokyo Game Show PlayStation press conference. Leaked images from the game's Brazilian site showed images of the game with nostalgic weapons and dark additions. However, the game will have no microtransactions.

A leak featuring "Resident Evil 7" gameplay screenshots confirm its setting and usable weapons. The screenshots were leaked from the Brazilian "Resident Evil 7" site. A leaked image showed the player's character holding a pistol and knife and a mansion are.

The handgun and knife are low damage weapons but are cost-efficient. Handgun ammo are usually seen scattered on the map while the knife virtually costs nothing. "Resident Evil 7" players often make use of these weapons in search operations as well as against single zombies that need not waste stronger weapon ammo.

In addition, the mansion areas have also been featured in older "Resident Evil 7" entries. Most of the mansions in the previous installments feature puzzles that often reveal secret paths or special items. "Resident Evil 7" gameplay may involve progression, making players paranoid of zombies that lurk in corners.

"Resident Evil 7" will reportedly have bonus pre-order items but a "Resident Evil " tweet confirmed that there will be no microtransactions, Bitbag reported. The tools featured will be the handgun, knife and possibly the burner and chem fluid set. Capcom is also expected to add in some bosses for players to fight with using the measly equipment.

"Resident Evil 7" will also feature a few horrific things from Capcom, GameSpot reported. The game developer released new screenshots showing off the dark and mysterious Baker family in their home.

A leaked image showed the Baker family eating a gross-looking dinner while another image showed a busted wall with light shining through. For those who pre-order "Resident Evil 7," the Deluxe edition costs $80 which includes access to four short side stories and another episode to the main game.
