‘Death Note’ Manga Compilation: One Giant Volume To Come Out Before Movie?

The fourth live action movie of "Death Note" is about to be released and it looks like fans will be treated first with a giant manga compilation of the story.

Spanning nearly three years and twelve volumes of thrilling manga, "Death Note" is the story of a high school boy who finds a powerful notebook from a death spirit named Ryuk that gives him the ability to kill anyone (As long as he knows their names and faces). He then goes on a mission to use his newfound abilities in a crusade against criminals.

The story was an instant cult classic and is retold through various media like animation, video games, novels, and live action films.

Speaking of live action films, the hit series will premiere a new one one entitled "Death Note: Light Up the World" and is rumored to feature new characters.

So with that, manga publisher Shueisha is giving fans a monumental way on catching up with the original story by making a tome like the collection of the entire "Death Note" manga series. Buyers will definitely need some muscle power lugging this comic book around as photos clearly show that this collection is a thick one.

The book is already out and it spans more than 2000 pages and is about eight centimeters thick. And if fans are wondering why the book is that thick, it is because this particular version will include an unpublished story from 2008 that coincided with another "Death Note" movie.

It will cost around 2500 yen or about $25, which is a pretty good value considering the massive content of the comic book. Add the fact that this would look pretty good as an addition to an anime fan's collection.

Another "Death Note" movie is slated to release in 2007 and will be produced by streaming powerhouse Netflix.
