Pokemon Go News: Niantic Deducts Coins From Refund Exploiters

Where there are mobile games, there are micro-transactions. And between these in-app purchases are threats of customer refund demands. Lots of factors need to be checked before a refund is being handed over and this article may talk about one unsolved case, yet.

A couple of months ago, a lot of players have requested refunds from Niantic Labs due to the removal of the tracking system in Pokemon Go. A lot of consumers felt 'betrayed' after they spent a lot buying Pokecoins to use in the game and ended up with the tracking system removed. Those who requested for the said refunds received them. At this point, there's no problem, Otakukart.com reports.

Months later, the anime blog site added that some Pokemon Go trainers are having negative values for coins. You may see a sample here, originally posted on Reddit.

What happened?

Earlier this week, Oktakukart.com states that Niantic is now 'penalizing' players for spending the coins spent in-game but still bothered to get the real money back. Say you spent $1 for 100 Pokecoins and these are your only coins for the time being, you then spent the whole 100 coins but then you decided to ask for a refund for some reason. Now you have the $1 back but still decide to continue playing Pokemon Go. What would happen when you login is that your coin value will be -100. The anime blog site added that this is Niantic's way of preventing players to exploit the sort of 'loop hole' that is currently happening with the refund system.

As of this writing, people are still figuring out what actually happened and the case still remains open. Oktakukart.com says that some have been suggesting that this weird incident only happens to Android users as no complaints came from Apple players. There are also not enough data if those complaining did or did not exploit the refund system.
