'Xbox One S' Is Now Ahead Of Sony PS4; Microsoft Says Thank You

Microsoft’s Xbox One S dethroned Sony’s PlayStation 4 Slim in sales. Microsoft plays the humble card and gave thanks to the fans.

It would seem that Microsoft’s marketing strategy finally paid off as Xbox One S finally managed to beat Sony’s PlayStation 4 Slim in  sales. Released last August 23 , the company was able to push the console to the limelight and whom attracted both old and new fans. The console promises a lot if improvements to the original particularly the ability to play Ultra HD Blu-Ray contents. In simple terms, the console is able to support native 4K resolution and will look great on Ultra HD TV’s.

Xbox’s Marketing Executive Aaron Greenberg was very ecstatic of the outcome and  shared his joy on his Twitter account.

There are a lot of factors to be considered as to why the console was able to get over the competition. One of that is pricing. The price alone can be play a big factor in deciding to purchase a new console. As of now the Xbox One S is priced at $299 while the PS4 Pro is set at $399. For a gamer on a budget, there’s no need hard which console to pick. One more reason to pick up an Xbox One S is that it supports backward compatibility .

Both Xbox One and Xbox One S are able to play select from 200 selected Xbox 360 games and the library is still growing. That is awesome news if you own an Xbox 360 before and you have games just lying around gathering dust. Now, you will have the time to play those games without having to switch consoles. All you need to have is the original disk or download the game from the online marketplace and you’re ready to go.

For now, let’s have Microsoft enjoy this victory as we are still not sure whether they can keep their lead this coming holiday season.
