Here's Why We Think That The Same Day Reveal Of Nintendo And Red Dead Redemption 2 Trailer Are No Coincidence

Today, Oct. 20, marks the official reveal of the new Nintendo NX console. At the same time, Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer is also giving out its first trailer. Is the timing just a coincidence or are we in for a surprise involving Nintendo's new console and the much-awaited video game?

Before we decided that nothing is ever a coincidence, fans of the Red Dead Redemption 2 pointed out that per official announcement, the upcoming video game will only be available to PS4 and Xbox One. No mention of the game being available on PC nor Nintendo NX was made but it does not stop the fact that two of the biggest announcements in the gaming industry just came out on the same day.

What We Know So Far

The Nintendo NX trailer is already revealed this 3 p.m. in U.K. time, which is 10 a.m in the U.S., and was expected to only last for three minutes. An hour later, Red Dead Redemption 2 released its trailer in the U.K. as well but how long it took was yet unknown. The two trailers premiered on the same day and just an hour apart made fans and gamers alike to speculate that following Red Dead Redemption 2's trailer is the announcement that Rockstar Games will make the game available on Nintendo NX.

In the end, no such announcement was made although Take-Two Interactive, which happens to be a parent company of Rockstar Games, praised the NX months before its release in June. The company's CEO, Strauss Zelnick, even revealed their excitement with the progress that Nintendo's newest console is making. He even remarked that they are "watching closely" to see what will happen with Nintendo's next plans and how they would develop into the future.

Finally, A Release Date For Red Dead Redemption 2

Earlier, the much-awaited Red Dead Redemption 2, which took about seven years for Rockstar Games to make, has finally set time for its release, which will be late next year, 2017. The level of gamers' anticipation for the new game is off the charts with an estimate of already 15 million sales upon launch, which is actually a conservative value considering the number of gamers who waited so long for the second series of the Red Dead Redemption video game.

Rockstar Games announced the arrival of Red Dead Redemption 2 by fall next year and it will be available on Xbox One and PS4. But as an anticipated game, perhaps the most anticipated game, Red Dead Redemption 2 should be released in NX as well if Nintendo is really serious about the console business. There are 70 million gamers who have already signed up to play Red Dead Redemption 2 on Xbox One and PS4 and that number alone shows that Nintendo has a serious competition to go against with.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Can Be The Key To Nintendo NX's Rising

Still, the favor is on Nintendo's side. Rockstar Games is known to use every channel available for its titles so having the Red Dead Redemption 2 not yet available on PC and Nintendo NX is not a big problem - for now. If ever Nintendo is going to spend money to lay a bridge for Rockstar Games to make their much-awaited game on the NX, it would be a worthy investment for the Mushroom Kingdom. Who knows? Having the Red Dead Redemption 2 on the Nintendo NX might be the way for the company to take the glory among its greatest console rivals like Sony's PlayStations and Microsoft's Xbox lineup.
