‘Peppa Pig’ Saves The Day; Cartoon Series Helped Firefighters Keep A Two-Year-Old Calm During A Rescue Mission

Just days after another round of vicious rumors attacked the hit animated series "Peppa Pig," reports from Surrey, England detailed how the cartoon series helped firefighters rescue a two-year-old boy. The rescue team from Godstone Fire Station was dispatched to Godstone Road, Whyteleafe to free the child whose arm was stuck behind a radiator. To keep the boy calm, the team played "Peppa Pig" in the background until they released the child's hand.

"Peppa Pig" Saves The Day

At about 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 25, Godstone Fire Station received a distressed call from Godstone Road, Whyteleafe in Surrey. A two-year-old boy's arm was jammed behind a radiator and the crew had to unhook the appliance off the wall to free the boy's hand.

Based on the account of one of the firefighters at the scene, the boy remained calm the entire time and there was "no distress whatsoever." He explained that during the entire time, "Peppa Pig" was playing in the background which greatly helped since the boy did not fidget or struggle during the rescue.

The child came out unscathed and the extraction only took a few minutes. However, details were sparse on how the accident happened and on the identity of the child.

Child Safety And Parental Guidance

While the rescue mission to free the child was successful, this should serve as a lesson to parents and guardians. It's crucial to look after children, especially young ones since these tots tend to stick their fingers in dangerous places like the gaps between home appliances and electric sockets.

This also proves that "Peppa Pig" is not the dangerous cartoon show that rumors accuse it to be. While claims that the ABC animated series causes autism is not true, there are still many people who believe that watching the show could be harmful to their child. Opinions would differ on using cartoon shows to entertain children but there's no denying that this time, "Peppa Pig" helped firefighters in rescuing a little boy.
