Pokemon Sun And Moon Update: Final Evolutions Of Starter Pokemon Revealed In New Trailer

After the leak of Pokemon Sun and Moon's Pokedex, the names and types of the starter Pokemon's final evolutions have been officially revealed. A new trailer released earlier introduced us to Deicdueye, Incineroar, and Primarina. The video also revealed the Alola guardian deities.

Pokemon Sun And Moon Starter Pokemon Final Forms

Decidueye (Grass/Ghost Type). The Arrow Quill Pokémon Decidueye is the fully evolved form of the Grass- and Flying-type starter Pokémon Rowlet. Decidueye attacks with astonishing speed, plucking arrow quills from its wings to send them hurtling towards its target with precise aim. This Pokémon is able to move about whilst completely masking its presence from others. Decidueye is the only Pokémon that can learn the move Spirit Shackle. This new Ghost-type move hits an opponent and makes it unable to leave the battle - it can't flee or switch out.

Incineroar (Fire/Dark Type). The Heel Pokémon Incineroar is the fully evolved form of the Fire-type starter Pokémon Litten. As Incineroar's fighting spirit increases, the flames it produces within its body burst from its navel and waistline. These flames resemble a championship belt, which it uses to unleash its moves. Incineroar is the only Pokémon able to learn the move Darkest Lariat. This new Dark-type physical attack allows Incineroar to deal damage to an enemy whilst ignoring the effects of any stat changes on that enemy.

Primarina (Water/Fairy Type). The Soloist Pokémon Primarina is the fully evolved form of the Water-type starter Pokémon Popplio. As Primarina dances, it releases balloons of water and controls their movement using the sound waves from its voice. Primarina uses some of these balloons to jump on and maneuver in battle whilst others explode when touched, which can trigger chained explosions. Primarina is the only Pokémon that can learn Sparkling Aria, a new Water-type special move; which heals the burns of any target it strikes.

The Three Alola Guardian Deities

Also revealed in the trailer are the three Alola region's guardian deities - Tapu Lele, Tapu Bulu, and Tapu Fini. Tapu Lele is a Psychic/Fairy Type guardian deity of Akala Island that gives physical effects on others by scattering glowing scales. These effects include body simulation and ability to heal their illness and injuries. Tapu Lele has also the unique ability called Psychic Surge that turns fields into psychic terrains; which give additional powers to any Psychic-type moves used by Pokemons.

The guardian deity of Ula'ula Islands, Tapu Bulu, is a Grass/Fairy Type with the ability to control vegetation. Tapu Bulu's unique ability, Grassy Surge, has the power to turn the field into a grassy terrain that boosts the power of any grass-type moves used by Pokemon and helps restore HP. This also weakens the damage taken from the moves Magnitude, Bulldoze, and Earthquake.

Lastly, Tapu Fini, the Water/Fairy type is the guardian deity of Poni Island. This Pokemon is skilled with water manipulation, creating a fog shield that disorients opponents. Tapu Fini's ability is called Misty Surge which turns fields into a misty terrain that halves the damage taken by Pokemon on the ground from Dragon-type moves.

All the guardian deities in Pokemon Sun and Moon share a common Z-Move called Guardian of Alola, that crushes their opponents and deals damage equal to 75 percent of target's remaining HP. Pokemon Sun and Moon will be released on Nintendo 3DS on November 18.
