Pokemon Sun And Moon In-Depth Guide To Alola's Fairy Guardians

Last Oct.27, the official Pokemon Channel released a trailer video that features the final evolutions for the starter Pokemon and the remaining Island Guardians for its upcoming game Pokemon Sun and Moon. Read more about the latest addition to the Pokemon Sun and Moon Alola Guardians - Tapa Bulu, Tapu Lele and Tapu Fini, and know about them before the game is released.

Groups of three legendary Pokemon have always been a tradition, but Pokemon Sun and Moon will be raising it a notch with four guardian Pokemon. With Tapu Koko, the first guardian already announced a couple of months ago, players are introduced to the remaining Pokemon Sun and Moon Alola guardians.

Pokemon Sun And Moon Guardian: Tapu Bulu

Tapu Bulu is a Grass/Fairy type Pokemon that guards the Ula'ula Island. The official Pokemon Sun and Moon website says that Tapa Bulu has the "power to manipulate vegetation and cause it to grow." Standing at 6-foot-3, this land guardian can manipulate the shape and size of its wooden horn for attacking or helping other Pokemon. It is described as a docile, placid Pokemon that is not fond of engaging in battles.

Tapa Bulu has a powerful attack called Nature's Madness that halves the HP of its target, slamming the enemy with nature's rage. Pokemon Sun and Moon Alola Guardians have unique abilities that can alter the environment of the battles. Tapu Bulu has the ability Grassy Surge, which changes the field into a grassy terrain that boosts Grass-type moves. Grassy Surge also decreases the effectivity of some Ground-type attacks such as Earthquake, Bulldoze and Magnitude.

Pokemon Sun And Moon Guardian: Tapu Lele

Tapu Lele is a Psychic/ Fairy type Pokemon that guards the Akala island. According to the official description, Tapu Lele "once brought an end to war between the islands of Alola by scattering its scales and soothing the tired warriors." A report from IBTimes states that details about the war have yet to become official.

Though the Pokemon Sun and Moon psychic guardian has a much smaller frame at 3-foot 11-inches, it must not be taken lightly. The scales from Tapu Lele is a double-edged sword. While it can heal wounds and rejuvenate the weakened, too much exposure to the scales might be too much for the body to withstand. It is also stated in the description that it prioritizes "not losing the battle" over actually "beating the foe."

Tapu Lele can also learn Nature's madness. Similar to other Alola Guardians, Tapu Lele has a unique ability called Psychic Surge. This ability changes the environment to a 'weird' terrain and boosts Psychic-type moves. It also prevents them from being hit by priority moves.

Pokemon Sun And Moon Guardian: Tapu Fini

Tapu Fini is the last Alola Guardian for Pokemon Sun and Moon. It is a Water/Fairy Type Pokemon that guards the Poni Island. Tapu Fini can create a special water that purifies both mind and body, which becomes the target of some evil-doers. Hence this Pokemon has a " sense of disgust and lack of interest in appearing to people," according to its official description.

This Deity can manipulate water in order to attack. Like the other Pokemon Sun and Moon guardians, Tapu Fini can also use Nature's Madness. Its unique ability, Misty Surge, changes the environment into a misty terrain that can decrease the damage taken from Dragon-type moves. It also prevents afflicting of status conditions or confusion.

Pokemon Sun and Moon is slated for a Nov. 18 release this year. It will be made available exclusively for Nintendo 3DS.
