Ever since iOS 10 was released, popular hacking group Pangu has not been able to release a jailbreak tool. But where it has failed, others have seemingly succeeded - several other groups and individuals have claimed ownership for breaking into the newest operating system from Apple. Pangu now is reportedly scheduled to release its own just in time for the holidays and right before the year ends.

According to Neurogadget, Pangu is waiting for Apple to release the latest iOS 10 update before going public with its jailbreak. And since the Cupertino-based company is already within the beta testing stage for the same and is expected to release the iOS 10.2 update sometime in December. Reportedly, this is when the group will release its tool.

The publication goes on to reason that Pangu is waiting for the update to be released in order to minimize future issues. iOS 10.2 is expected to arrive with bug fixes and additional security measures, which the hacking group would prefer to look at before making the jailbreak public. The release is apparently supposed to surprise Apple, which will then need some time to retaliate and regroup.

Before Apple even released the iOS 10 officially, Pangu already demonstrated that it had the jailbreak tool for it. Which is why many wondered why, when the new OS was rolled out, Pangu remained silent. Putting some faith into the group, it is possible that only the perfect time to strike is lying between the tool and the public.

As BGR notes, Apple released a new beta last Monday for iOS 10.2. The new update will apparently include even more features, as opposed to simple bug fixes. One particular feature that has gotten some air time is a new screen effect for the Messages app. Of course, there will also be revamped emojis in the mix.
