Pokemon Sun And Moon: How QR Codes Help You Win The Game

Pokemon Sun and Moon have more than a little to shake up their game. With new features and surprises, more and more players are getting hooked to the new offering. It is definitely something that is filled with things to do and secrets to uncover.

Like most Pokémon games, Sun and Moon has its quirks. Although there are many ways to help a player level up, there might be an easier method to be the champion in the Island of Alola. A player may have the necessary starters to get into the game. However, it does not secure an Alolan victory. By properly knowing the QR codes, you might become the next Pokemon Champion in the Region of Alola.

Be Acquainted With Pokémon Sun And Moon's QR Codes

With new Pokemon comes new moves and mechanics. The latest Pokemon Sun and Moon utilize a QR code to obtain Pokemon from the game through a QR Scanner. Each Pokemon creature has its unique QR code that must be scanned to automatically register them in a player's Pokedex. Once the player has them in their Pokedex, they can now see where the specific Pokemon will appear in Alola. According to Digital Spy, This is one of the preliminary steps a Sun and Moon player needs to snag the Alolan Championship.

Get Rare Pokemon Through Island Scan Feature

It is important to remember that for every 10 QR codes a player gets, the Island Scan Feature becomes available. These scans reveal a particular location of a Pokemon that is not found in the actual Sun and Moon map. Upon activating the Island Scan, a rare Pokemon will spawn somewhere on the Island where you are at that time. You will be given an hour to track down and catch the Pokemon. If you do not reach it in time, you will have to wait for the next day to use the Island Scan Feature again. In order to be Alola's Champion Pokémon Collector, having on-hand information on where to catch rare Pokemon is important.

Below is the list of the rare Pokemon the Island Scan reveals depending on the day. First the location is Melemele Island where Cyndaquil (Sunday), Totodile (Monday), Deino (Tuesday), Horsea (Wednesday), Kilink (Thursday), Chikorita (Friday) and Litwick (Saturday) can be caught via Island Scan. Same goes to the next area that is the Akala Island where you can find Gothita, Spheal, Luxio, Honedge, Venipede, Bellsprout and Marill respectively. Third is the Ula'ula Island; it is comprised of Rhyhorn, Swinub, Duosion, Roselia, Staravia, Vigoroth and Axew. Last area will be Poni Island where Elektross, Conkeldurr, Togekiss, Leavanny, Serperior, Samurott and Emboar can be found.

Get Magearna's QR Code and Become Alola's Champion

Catching the Mythical Magearna gives a player a boost in the game. If you are hunting for this Pokemon creature, you might need to keep scanning the QR Codes. Pokemon Sun and Moon have a special QR code for the metallic Pokemon, Magearna, that can be scanned in the game.

To find the Mythical Magearna, a player needs to head over the antique shop ion the Hau'oli City shopping mall and search for Magearna's QR code and become Alola's Champion. Bear in mind that the Hau'oli outskirts is the location for many wild Pokemon encounters uncluding Alolan Rattata, Yungoos, Slowpoke and Wingull. Watch out for those creatures when traversing Hau'oli on your journey to become the champion.
