Pokemon Sun And Moon Guide: How To Catch Dhelmise Easily

Dhelmise, the funny-looking anchor in Pokemon Sun and Moon, can easily be caught in Alola, but you have to go to one particular spot. Trying to catch one might seem repetitive, but there's really no over-the-top methods (such as going to another dimension in the case of Cosmog) you have to do to get one.

Pokemon Sun And Moon Guide: How To Catch Dhelmise

First, head to Poni Island and go to the Seafolk Village in Pokemon Sun and Moon. Find the house in the shape of a Steelix boat and go inside. Exit through the door in the middle of the house to get to the fishing spot. This is the only fishing spot you will see after going out so you can just go ahead and cast your fishing rod.

When the fishing spot is bubbling, you know you are in for something special. You want it to be bubbly, otherwise, Dhelmise will be harder to come across. When you fish up something that's not the Pokemon you're looking for, go back inside and then back out to reset the fishing spot.

When you go out again, it will be bubbling again. The reason why you want it to be special is that Dhelmise has only 1 percent chance of appearing in a normal spot and 10 percent in a special spot. A few reeling in and going back in and out should eventually land you the ghost type Pokemon.

Of course, you will have to enter battle with it when you encounter it, so be prepared. Have Ultra Balls handy so you don't waste the encounter. Although the method is pretty straightforward, it might still last until and over your break time, so it's best to catch the first one you reel in.

Dhelmise's Stats And Abilities In Pokemon Sun And Moon

The Sea Creeper Pokemon, which is surprisingly a Grass-type, is so strong that it can KO the humongous Wailord in a single blow, per the official Pokemon Sun and Moon website. It has the ability Steelworker that allows it to raise the power of Steel-type moves by 50 percent.

Its base stats total to 517. As evident in its description, the Dhelmise's strength is its Attack Power, which is at 131 points. Second only is Defense at 100. A Close third is Sp. Defense at 90, while its Sp. Attack is at 86. Its HP and Speed are quite low with only 70 and 40 respectively.

In comparison, the legendaries in Pokemon Sun and Moon, Solgaleo and Lunala, have total base stats of 680. You can tell why Dhelmise is rare as it can offer serious advantages in battle; though you might want to work out a strategy to prevent it from fainting prematurely.

You can also take into account its weakness, or should I say weaknesses. It is weak against Flying, Ghost, Fire, Ice and Dark types, while it is immune to Normal and Fighting types. Include that in your strategy as well. Another info you might want to know about Dhelmise is it does not evolve into anything.
