The Last Guardian Complete Guide In Handling Trico

The griffin-like creature named Trico is your companion in The Last Guardian. Although large and very agile, Trico is not very hard to handle. This guide will help you understand how to command Trico, comprehend his gestures, and handle him properly.

The Last Guardian: Interacting With Trico Tips

The easiest and fastest way to calm Trico is stroking his neck. This is done by climbing atop of him and pressing O on your controller. You can also climb on his tail and drag it by doing the same command. When having a hard time finding your way out, Trico is most likely to call you by howling and grumping. Jump on his back and he will try to get you two out of the place.

You also need to understand Trico's demeanor by looking at the color of his eyes. The black color of the eyes means everything is just fine. White or Yellow means he is being distracted of mesmerized. Having Pink eyes means Trico is hostile and aggressive towards enemies.

Having In Combat With Trico

While in combat, you can help Trico fight enemies by ripping off helmets when they're knocked off. To prevent the stone guards from attacking Trico with spears, you can distract them by pushing them away and hanging on to their backs. This will give an advantage to Trico in attacking them, but be sure to get out of the way when he does so.

Other Tips In Handling Trico

Before you enter a passage where Trico cannot go with you, you might want to give him a good pet before you go. This will help your heart once you hear Trico grumbling. Other important things in The Last Guardian are the barrels which Trico eats. Notice the blue butterflies that appear around you when you're getting closer to a glowing barrel. When you're right next to it, there will be three butterflies. If you see more than three butterflies, that means there's more than one barrel around the spot.
