‘The Apprentice 2016' Updates: Who Gets To Join Lord Sugar On His Next Business Trip?

In the much-awaited British reality show that has business gurus as the judges, "The Apprentice 2016," the winner has finally been announced. The luxury cake company proprietor Alana Spencer was successful in winning over the novelty business owner Courtney Wood.

The TV series that gathers aspiring businessmen and women to compete for a prize has been around for years. In "The Apprentice" season 12, Spencer from Ceredigion scored a £250,000 investment and a 50/50 business partnership with Lord Sugar.

The show's winner said she started her business at a young age of 17. She went on to tell that she started in school as a chocolate company and then developed into a cake business. "It's gone strength to strength and it's a good small business but I really want to make it a big business and what better way to do that than get Lord Sugar on board," the 24-year-old stated.

In the finals of "The Apprentice" season 12, the two finalists, Courtney Wood and Spencer, were joined by previous "Apprentice" contestants to launch their businesses and create a TV advertisement. Both were subjected to intense questioning and challenge as they faced Lord Sugar in the boardroom.

The pair went on to state their final pieces and the decision was made. "It's a tough one, but I've got to make a decision and go with my gut feeling. So, Alana, you're going to be my business partner," Lord Sugar said.

The English business magnate explained that he chose Spencer because of her determination along with a well-made business plan. He also mentioned that the winner initially looked like the underdog but she was able to pick it up as the show went along. He also notes her best qualities such as being bubbly and intelligent.

As for Courtney, "The Apprentice" season 12's final verdict may not have gone according to his desire but he still managed to keep it together. "I'm disappointed, but I am really pleased for Alana. She really deserves it - she's come really far in the process," he stated.
