World Of Warcraft Vanilla News: Elysium To Launch Fresh PVP Realm

After the relaunch of World Of Warcraft's most popular legacy server, Nostalrius thru Elysium, the server is now ready to embark on a fresh start as they announced a new PVP realm and its launch date. The realm will be available to everyone where they can start a game from the beginning with fresh characters and items. Elysium will launch the said realm on January 7, 2017.

Elysium Project And Nostalrius

It was previously reported that Nostalrius partnered with Elysium to bring its server back to life after Blizzard shut it down. Nostalrius transferred their source codes and tools to Elysium in hopes to maintain and recover the progress of thousands of vanilla World of Warcraft players. Earlier this month the project was successfully implemented and truly, the Nostalrius server was brought back to life.

During the first days of a relaunch, Elysium has faced issues like DDOS attacks, login errors, missing items, and hardware issues. Despite having these problems, Elysium was able to cope up. Players were able to recover their characters and game progression from Nostalrius even though it was shut down for months. Now, Elysium Project is ready to make yet another step for vanilla WoW fans.

Fresh Realm PVP For Players

Elysium announced to launch a fresh realm for everyone on January 7, 2017 at 12:00 PM EST. Players can enter the realm with characters and everything from the beginning. This new realm, however, will still follow the same progress as the two older realms in terms of timeline and itemization.

Elysium is only one of many WoW legacy servers operating in different regions globally. Despite Blizzard's effort to shut them down, legacy servers are still active and being supported by many, including the Kronos and Awakening, who also just recently announced plans. These legacy servers aim to maintain and preserve the vanilla World of Warcraft and keep it accessible to everyone.
