Overwatch Update: Blizzard Announces Free Loot Boxes; How To Get One

Blizzard is offering one final surge of Holiday bonuses to their Overwatch fans. As announced, the company will be giving away five loot boxes for free to all players who logged into the game starting between today and January 2.

According to the report from Game Rant, it seems that Blizzard is setting a new area for online service support with their first-person shooter action game Overwatch. The game title is continually getting in-game content updates in various forms, receiving out-of-game updates such as comics and cinematic videos. In addition, the game developers are having constant communication with the community. As a result, they cater each game updates perfectly to what their player wants.

Based on the report, Blizzard decided to give bonuses for their players who log into the game around this time. Basically, players can receive as much as six free loot boxes as the first free loot box was already provided during the beginning of the Christmas Event entitled Winter Wonderland. Apparently, the event will officially end on Jan 2. As a result, the free five loot boxes will arrive with a Winter Wonderland variety. That means, one of these free loot boxes might contain at least one item having rare or higher quality from the Winter Wonderland Collection.

Though Blizzard has not revealed the drop rate of each loot box with different rarities, however, five loot boxes appears to be a good spot. Based on some observations, purple drop is extremely likely while legendary drop is surely a possibility. Hopefully, there are numerous players who will have a chance to receive one of these limited items: Yeti Winston, Mei-rry Mei, Jingle Tracer, Santaclad Torbjorn and Nutcracker Zenyatta. Players will also obtain several coals in their loot boxes.

Meanwhile, it is said that there are lots of things that fans should be excited with Overwatch next year such as upcoming seasonal events, new characters and maps and more.

Overwatch is now available for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
