Atari's 'RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic' Now Available On iOS And Android

It seems like that it has come to an era that video game developers are already at that point where they should be remaking and bringing back classics for kids and those kids at heart to enjoy. Classic video games have recently been remastered for mobile devices and it seems like the latest to join the bandwagon is the original “RollerCoaster Tycoon” video game.

Atari has just announced that the first two video game installments of “RollerCoaster Tycoon”, which are “RollerCoaster Tycoon 1” and “RollerCoaster Tycoon 2” has just been redeveloped to fit Android and iOS systems and has already been out on the market. The said mobile game remake has been officially titled “RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic” and has been released on Dec. 20. It costs about $6 to download the initial game but further purchases will be inevitable for in-app expansions.

Chris Sawyer, the creator of the original video game series has voiced out his thoughts on this expansion and has admitted that he has been long wanting to put the first two installments of “RollerCoaster Tycoon” in the market for Android and the iOS because he knows that the fans of the said video game series will enjoy playing it again especially on an enhanced platform The technology nowadays suits and gives justice to the nature of the said game, which enables users to build theme parks based on their own imagination. He further said that thanks to modern technology especially when it comes to smartphones and tablets, he and his development team were able to retouch the classic game for modern devices and give it a new graphic overhaul.

“RollerCoaster Tycoon” was first launched back in March 1999 for Microsoft Windows and has even spawned two expansions. After that, six installments including the latest “RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic” for Android and iOS have been developed and released since 2002.
