World Of Tanks Latest News: Official APAC Tournament Starts This Week

Gamers of World of Tanks will again have a special APAC event that will start this week. At stake is the prize of $200,000 US for the team that will beat the odds. Wargaming League Season 2 will be participated by several teams in the Asia-Pacific region. It will be a triple round-robin competition for all the participating teams.

El Gaming Is The Defending Champion Of World Of Tanks

The World of Tanks competition last year was won by EL Gaming. This group was undefeated during the tournament and brought home the top prize. Aside from being a shoo-in for the second APAC seed B-Gaming, they also gained access to the Challengers Rumble held in New York. As the defending champion, they will be the front-liners.

Aside from the APAC tournament, World of Tanks will also be holding tryouts and playoffs for American and German players. This event will commence on Feb. 1, 2017 and run through Feb. 5, 2017. Prizes will be awarded the day after, Feb. 6. The American team will be pitted against the German team.

To be able to participate in this World of Tanks tournament, a gamer should select the team he should join and complete the 'Tryouts.' The players will be using tier III vehicles, either Regular or Premium. Once a player chooses a team, he can no longer switch sides. After passing the tryouts, the players will be able to unlock the 'Playoffs.' He will then reap his extra XP and silver for every victory.

Top 12 Teams To Compete For The Championship

With regards to the APAC World of Tanks tournament, the top 12 teams will be competing for the Grand Finals that will be held in Moscow this year. There are eight teams from last year's competition that were given the chance to compete this year. Other teams will be chosen from the winners of the four regions of APAC. The winner of the 12 teams will be named as the world champion.
