WhatsApp Rolls Out Update To Support Android 7.0 Nougat Interactive Notification

Just recently Google updated the terms governing the use of the Android 7.0 Nougat update to ensure that the interactive notification feature will remain, it seems that WhatsApp has been paying attention to this update since the company released an update to address incompatibility issues. Known to be one of the most popular messaging app today, WhatsApp also made changes to support Google's latest OS.

WhatsApp Android 7.0 Nougat Update

The interactive notification for Android Nougat was supposed to improve the user experience. All OEMs were prohibited from tampering with this feature. However, the user interface on mobile devices is not the only thing affected with this update. There are also some applications like WhatsApp that needs to make some adjustments to ensure that the feature will work properly on a device that runs on Android Nougat.

WhatsApp did its part to make sure that the transition will not be difficult for users. There were prior reports that the app was incompatible with Android Nougat and the company behind the chat application has been quick to respond.

Users can now download the WhatsApp 2.17.13 beta. This will allow the application to run properly when used with the latest Google OS. The beta version is available in the Google Play store but for those who do not like updating the app through the Play store, the update is also available in APK mirror as reported by Android Police.

WhatsApp Privacy Issues

WhatsApp was recently involved in an issue where the chat app was accused of compromising the security of its users. Earlier reports indicated that anyone in the company can eavesdrop in any conversation in the app. Given this possible risk, doubts on using the application became widespread. Needless to say, WhatsApp was quick to address the issue.

With this newest update, WhatsApp is definitely doing its best to adapt to the evolving technology and this move includes rolling out updates to support the Android Nougat.
