Can The 'Xbox Scorpio' Beat 'PlayStation 4 Pro' In Sales? To Feature Next-Gen 4K And VR Compatibility

The Xbox Scorpio's official release date is still a big question mark among tech enthusiasts. There are several rumors about its release date, however, very little information is actually available out in the open for this mysterious project.

The Xbox Scorpio is definitely going to be Microsoft's most ambitious project in the gaming console industry. Xbox head Phil Spencer has recently conveyed some information on a possible sneak peek of the console. Spencer responded to a comment on his Twitter about a question regarding a possible sneak peek of the Xbox Scorpio.

Spencer explains that everything is still under wraps. He also claims that the design outfit is doing their job very efficiently.

What else to know about the Scorpio

VideoGamesRepublic reports that Phil Spencer has earlier talked about how the Scorpio will be a premium console. However, the word itself is pretty ambiguous and can mean a lot of exciting new features to come. The console refresh from Microsoft should officially launch during this year's holiday season.

4K gaming capabilities are also going to be available for the Xbox Scorpio when it launches. It will directly rival the PlayStation 4 Pro as it will also be the main player towards providing Virtual Reality.

Possibility of VR Component

Microsoft has not yet given any confirmations on whether a VR component will be used for the Xbox. If rumors are true, Microsoft is likely to partner with Oculus to provide a home console for the Rift VR headset for the Xbox.

The GPU for the Scorpio may also possess some adequate horsepower intended for running VR titles.

Official introduction of the Scorpio

The Scorpio is going to be ultra-powerful and Microsoft will ensure that sufficient software is available. There is some huge speculation around the Scorpio's hardware and software. Reports indicate that all will come to a conclusion this coming E3 2017.

A report coming from GameSpot claims that even Spencer has talked about the possibility of not showing the Scorpio before E3 in June 2017. Microsoft has always dubbed the Scorpio as the most powerful console ever made.

With that, a premium price tag is also expected as a result.
