Nintendo Switch: Gaming Console Preferred By Parents For Their Kids; Find Out Why

Features, games and accessories about the Nintendo Switch have been released recently. There is one feature though that the parents will like about the upcoming game platform.

Parental Control

Nintendo has revealed lots of details about the Switch which have been praised or criticized by critics and fans alike. The decision to buy it though rests mainly on the adults or parents. Fortunately, they have a big incentive to consider the Switch over other consoles such as the Xbox or PlayStation.

The Switch basically has a "stop switch" courtesy of the Parental Controls app. This will enable mom or dad to set time limits to their kid's play time with their video games. To be fair, Microsoft first implemented a similar control in the Xbox 360. The feature was known as Time Limit however, it was no longer available on the Xbox One.

About The Parent App

The mobile app will allow parents to set a time limit over their children's video game time. Once the child violates the agreed time limit, parents can stop the game using the app. The virtual parental control will surely elicit violent reactions from critics. Parents though are advised to talk to their kids in setting up some ground rules with their video game activities.

Parents will also get a weekly report about their children's video game activity. The app preview will show parents the games usually played by their young ones. The app can also restrict the child's access to some games based on the age rating. In addition, the adults can set limits to their kid's online communication in social networks and postings. The fact that Nintendo decided to make it as a mobile app makes it more convenient for parents to use.

Nintendo will make the Parental Controls App available for the iOS and Android devices through their respective app stores. More details are available in this video.
