2017 Smartphones That Will Sport An Iris Scanner

Iris scanners on smartphones are slowly becoming mainstream features. With that, fans can expect that 2017 will see more smartphones making use of such a high-tech feature. If you're looking forward to getting a phone with an iris scanner, here are some of this year's upcoming phones rumored to sport the high-tech identity recognition system.

Samsung's Galaxy S8 And Galaxy Note 8 Devices

Last year's Galaxy Note 7 device sported an iris scanner along with a fingerprint scanner. With that said, there's a really good chance that the 2017 Note device will also be packed with that same features. The Galaxy S8, on the other hand, is now getting rumored to have an iris snapper of its own. It was said that the device will come with an 8 MP front camera with an iris scanner beside it.

Motorola Moto Z 2017 Smartphone

According to a report from Phone Arena, Motorola has filed a patent application for the use of an iris scanner. The source says that this could be for the 2017 Moto Z device. This phone is actually expected to be one of the premium devices bound for a 2017 release. The Moto Z 2017 could be powered by the fastest and the latest Qualcomm chipset that's the Snapdragon 835 and it could also be running Android Nougat from the box.

LG's Upcoming 2017 Flagship Smartphone

The LG G6 is yet another flagship phone that's expected to arrive this year. As per Android Authority, this phone could come with a 5.7-inch display and a waterproof body. Rumor has it that the LG G6 will also have a dual camera system and a front cam that will double as its iris scanner. Needless to say, this phone is still on its rumor phase but fans need not wait longer for confirmation. LG will be holding a press con on February 26 at the 2017 MWC trade show.
