Nokia Lumia 928: More Renders Leak, When To Expect The Handset?

Rumors of Nokia's upcoming Windows Phone 8 (WP8)-powered smartphone, Lumia 928, have been flying around for awhile now. Previously, a leaked image showed the front and the back of the smartphone and now the latest rendering shows the smartphone from the sides also.

The latest rendering of the Nokia Lumia 928 comes courtesy of @evleaks, who posted the image on Twitter. @evleaks is the source who previously leaked the image of the front and back of the device. The tweet also says "Nokia Lumia 928, a final look," giving a glimmer of hope that the handset will launch soon.

A recent report indicates that the highly anticipated WP8 smartphone may debut in the U.S. on April 25, whereas a previous one pointed to May 15. With so many rumors and leaked renderings surfacing recently, the launch date of April 25 (with a May release on Verizon) seems relatively realistic; however, neither Verizon nor Nokia has confirmed the device.

Various rumors indicate that Nokia is planning on a high-end WP8 smartphone, which will head toward Verizon. Handsets named EOS, Catwalk, Lumia 928 and Laser have been in the news of late. Speculations also suggest that Nokia may launch a refreshed Lumia 920 packed within an aluminum chasis.

Many market observers believe that the Nokia Lumia 928 and the Nokia Catwalk or Nokia Laser could be the same device but meant for different U.S. carriers. In the U.S., AT&T is the exclusive carrier of the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820. Verizon carries the Lumia 822, which is the carrier's version of Lumia 820, but misses a device similar in specifications to the Lumia 920.

The Lumia 928 is rumored to come in an array of bright colors, such as blue, red, white and cyan. The Lumia 928 is also expected to have a better camera with improvements to the flash, enabling users to take pictures in low-light conditions. Similar to the Nokia Lumia 920, the Lumia 928 is expected to sport the same 4.5-inch LCD display, 1.5GHz dual core CPU and 32GB of on-board storage.
