Three Things That Are Really Wrong About The Huawei Mate 9

Just like any other mobile device, the Huawei Mate 9 not only has some incredible details that will definitely blow customers´ minds but also some downsides that even when it doesn't turn this handset into some kind of a fiasco, you´ll definitely need to be aware before buying it.

The Huawei Mate 9 Is Too Big For Customers´ Taste

In a moment where customers usually love not-so-big mobile devices, the Huawei Mate 9 has a 5.9-inch LCD, which even when this is not exactly a gigantic size, is a bit bigger than what most users want. Naturally, this represents one of the bad things about this mobile device, considering that even when the Chinese company knew about this tendency in customers, it decided to make a smartphone with this size.

Of course, a 5.9-inch LCD mobile device will be quite outstanding for many users but is an undeniable truth that in this particular field, the Huawei Mate 9 will not achieve expectations, given the fact that even with the slim bezels, it will be almost impossible to reach much of the screen without having to adjust the grip or using a second hand. Don´t get me wrong, this isn´t something bad at all, but considering that it´s definitely something customers should be aware of, this represent an issue for a smartphone that wants to conquer the U.S. market.

Its Charging Is Really Bad

One of the most incredible things about the Huawei Mate 9 is that this is a mobile device that is equipped with a 4000mAh battery, which makes it greater than superb flagships as the iPhone 7, Google Pixel Xl and even the almighty Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. The battery is so incredible that you can use the mobile device for an entire day. However, this great detail also has a really bad one:  it will be extremely annoying.

Believe it or not, the Huawei Mate 9´s charging system is non-standard, which is clearly something unbelievable for a mobile device that is expected to represent a huge threat for the greater brands. In fact, the USB type-C port doesn't support Quick Charge or USB-PD, and it only has a special Huawei system that is called SuperCharge, and even when it´s fast, you can´t use any other charger with this phone, and you can´t buy extras.

The Huawei Mate 9 Has An Annoying Lock Screen

The thing about this really bad detail about the Huawei Mate 9, is that just as the previous case, it comes after a great thing. This great thing is the fact that the mobile device comes with Nougat, and it´s even cleaned up many of its more annoying UI quirks, but the problem is that the lock screen remains annoying.

Unfortunately, this mean that this will make your quick settings harder to access, and the worst thing is that the notification are only shown once, as if it was some kind of cruel sorcery in which you have to be more aware than ever if the Huawei Mate 9 ever vibrate or rings, because even if the notifications are still in the notification shade, these won´t appear again. Believe it or not, things are even worse, given the fact that most media playback controls won´t show up on the lock screen at all, which is something irritable that you will need to have a lot of patience.
