The 2018 Cadillac XT3 has recently been spotted doing some road tests and spy shots suggest that the new model will get a lighter body with smaller dimensions and new designs. The test mule is very well camouflaged but there are still a few details that can be made out.

According to a report from GM Authority, the 2018 Cadillac XT3 appears to be reminiscent to the new Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain in terms of size. However, the same report also mentioned that the 2018 Cadillac XT3 seems to have lost a considerable amount of weight.

Accordingly, the 2018 Cadillac XT3, despite being well camouflaged still shows the automaker's signature plunging pentagonal mesh grille along with a pair of seemingly pointy LED headlights that show off a meaner appearance. Other distinct features include the rear taillights that appear to run across the D-pillars, which is reminiscent to the Cadillac Escalade. Accordingly, this suggests that a new design for the 2018 Cadillac XT3 is on the way.

As per Car and Driver, a low-mounted intercooler is seen peeking behind the front fascia of the 2018 Cadillac XT3 despite the camouflage. This means that there is a very big possibility that the 2018 Cadillac XT3 will be equipped with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The numbers however, regarding its horsepower and amount of torque it can produce, are naturally out of the question yet. Accordingly, the 2018 Cadillac XT3 will also be likely paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission with a front wheel drive (FWD) or an all-wheel drive (AWD) drivetrain.
