Coldplay Pays Poignant Homage To George Michael At The BRIT Awards

Famous Coldplay frontman and co-founder Chris Martin, paid an emotional tribute to late singer, songwriter and record producer, George Michael who passed away last December 25, 2016 . The late icon was found dead, lying in bed by his partner and no cause of death was initially released, however, it was later stated by his manager Michael Lippman that the famous singer passed away peacefully due to heart failure.

During the BRIT Awards, Chris Martin paid tribute to the late icon, George Michael by dueting with a recorded image of the late singer onscreen while singing "A Different Corner", a song which was released by Columbia Records in the U.S. in 1986.

According to his Wham! bandmate Andrew Ridgeley, Michael George's death is like an extinguished supernova in a heaven of shining stars.

Coldplay Singer Chris Martin Brings The Crowd To Tears

Chris Martin's homage to George Michael was a bit of a surprise to both the audience as well as viewers. The said performance was introduced to the crowd by George Michael's former Wham! bandmate Andrew Ridgeley and Wham! backup vocalists Pepsi and Shirlie.

The said performance gained lots of attention from all over the net, few of which posted as: "Coldplay singer Chris Martin duets with recording of George Michael and brings the crowd to tears. #BRITs2017", one Twitter post stated. "Chris Martin is doing the @GeorgeMichael tribute posted by another Twitter user. The performance also gained lots of emotional feedback from both viewers and live audience as Chris Martin chose to sing alongside George Michael halfway through his performance.

George Michael Also Remembered At The Grammys

A few weeks ago, it was Grammy Award winner Adele who performed the song "Fastlove" to pay tribute in memory of the late famous icon. The performance also gained lots of media frenzy as Adele stopped in the middle of the performance and asked the band to start over again.
