Why Bethesda May Have Started Developing Fallout 5, The Elder Scrolls 6 Already

Fallout 5 and The Elder Scrolls 6 are arguably two of the most highly anticipated games of recent memory. Bethesda, however, has remained silent, not opting to release a word or two. As a result, the games' existence are still but a mystery. However, a new update has somehow hinted the status of these two titles.

In an interview with Glixel, director Todd Howard revealed some important updates about the studio's plan in the next coming months or so. While he didn't directly hint the existence of The Elder Scrolls 6 and Fallout 5, he admits that they're working on a total of 3 new projects. "We've got a good number of projects on the go," he says.

The director of the possible Fallout 5 and The Elder Scrolls 6 games iterates that Bethesda is big enough to hold various projects. However, they don't want to fasten things up, as they plan to take each step by step. He even points out the coming of two larger projects, something that he deems "more classically the scale" of what they usually do. The only catch? Well, they're even bigger.

When asked about the status and identity of the titles, Howard says that he or anyone from the studio can't tell. It's due to the fact that they're completely "staggered," due to overlapping the projects altogether. It's safe to say that the video game company is working on these untitled games all at the same time. Add to this the fact that they're nothing like they did before. So, in a sense, they're testing the waters -- so to speak.

What Howard said doesn't clearly confirm the existence of Fallout 5 and The Elder Scrolls 6. However, between those lines, there's that possibility of the titles entering the development stage. And if anything else, they might soon be announced. But of course, this one here is only a matter of time. Players could just hope that they indeed do arrive.
