The game Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a massive game that contains a wide array of strong opponents ranging from size and kind that can pretty much stagger a player's progress in the game. However, the saying, the best offense is a good defense is the best applicable idea to counter this problem. Furthermore, the game features an iconic item that players and fans would instantly recognize. And it is the Hylian Shield, with it, players can avoid receiving massive damage when they equip this item.

How To Locate The Hylian Shield

According to RPG Site, the iconic shield can only be found in one place and it is deep inside the Hyrule Castle. The castle itself is located near the northern edge of the Central Hyrule area. Once in the general vicinity of the castle, players need to go to the back of the castle to find a broken bridge. On the broken bridge, players need to look to the right and should see blue orbs in the distance. From the broken bridge, players need to glide to make their way towards the blue orbs. There is a low-lying platform right before the blue orbs and that is where players need to land, however they need to be alert as there is a Guardian nearby. At the top of the ramp, players need to stick close to the wall to get past the Guardian to reach a door that leads inside the castle.

Once inside the castle, players will immediately see a gate with a body of water below it. At this point, players need to use the Cryonis Rune to lift up the gate and use it to get across. The next area is a dungeon that houses prisoners and the switch to open the cells are in the middle. There are some rooms with cell doors that cannot be opened, to enter them, the wall behind it can be blasted through with bombs. Players can take their time to check the area since there are many items to gain there.

Obtaining The Hylian Shield

In an article by Gosu Noob, once done scouring the cell area, save the game first, then head to the available side room, which is at the very end of the area. Here, players would see a bunch of bones lying around and typically like in any other Zelda game, the skeleton would reanimate, and would form into a giant Stalnox.

The player has two options when fighting the Stalnox, they can either attack the eye of the creature with a bow and arrow so it would fall over then attack the body or they could attack the body and avoid getting sat on by the large creature. Once its health has been depleted, the eye would pop out, players need to destroy the eye in order to prevent the creature from rising again. Once done, the creature will perish and a chest will appear, and inside among other things, the player will find the unbreakable Hylian Shield.
