Why GTA 5 Players Need To Transfer Old-Gen Console Characters To Newer Platforms Now

Despite its long existence in the gaming industry, GTA 5 still proves to be a monster. Because really, it's considered as one of the most highly celebrated titles of all time. Tons of players are enjoying this title from Rockstar Games. However, the studio is up for some upgrading works; thus fans are advised to transfer their characters from previous gen-consoles to the newer ones.

According to GamesRadar, the studio has just recently announced that players must do their best to transfer their characters from Xbox 360 and/or PlayStation 3 to the latest gaming platforms. These are namely Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. And apparently, they have until today (March 6) to do the process.

Rockstar is basically set to upgrade the system of GTA 5, particularly its online version. The good thing is that respective servers for the old consoles will still be up and running. Contrary to popular belief, they won't be shut down by the video game company. But of course, players have the freedom to create new characters if they want to.

In its most organic form, the move the studio will be doing is about the transfer of existing character from a certain system to another. If players are into Sony's PlayStation 3 or Microsoft's Xbox 360, they have to go with the process. This is most especially if they want their data as well as all the stuff they've earned in Los Santos to be saved. Doing so will result to these being intact once the upgrade to the newer consoles happens.

The process is actually pretty easy for GTA 5 players to follow. First, they must have the Rockstar Social Club that's tied to their owned consoles. From there, they just need to run a copy of the game on PlayStation 4, Xbox One or PC, then just log in. The game will automatically walk them with the other steps in completing the entire process.

In related GTA 5 news, Rockstar has just announced a series of updates coming to the game. TNHOnline reports among these update are the new official stunt races. All in all, there'll be 15 of them. Moreover, a new event is on its way and will give players the chance to earn more in-game currency and other rewards.
