Destiny 2: Everything We Know So Far

Destiny 2 has been shrouded in mystery as Bungie has been fairly reticent with regards to development updates of the upcoming expansion. Over the past few months, only a few details were given but that did not change the fact that the game is already in development. Today, a couple of info about Destiny 2 has surfaced on the web, which provide some clues as to what Bungie has in stored for its community. Here's everything there is to know so far:

Destiny 2 Release Date And Beta Release

Recently, various posters and promotional artworks revealed the release date of the highly anticipated Destiny 2 expansion. According to the legitimate posters, as shown down below, Destiny 2 is slated to be released this fall on Sept. 8. Furthermore, a caption at the bottom of the poster, which is in the Italian language, reads: "beta in anticipio" which translates to "beta available in advance." This means that fans will be able to partake in a beta trial as a means of a pre-order bonus.

For those that are reluctant about the promotional artworks, Kotaku's Jason Schreier revealed that the posters are indeed legitimate and real. Moreover, Schreier stated that either Bungie or Activision will soon release further details about Destiny 2 (it was initially assumed to be released today).

Destiny 2 Will Be A Complete Reset

Earlier in March, Bungie announced that Destiny 2 will be a complete reset of the game. This means that all the saved data from the original Destiny will not be carried over to the expansion. According to Bungie, "Destiny 1 power, possessions and Eververse-related items and currency will not carry forward. They will, however, remain accessible to you in Destiny 1."

The news about the complete reset didn't come as a surprise considering that way back in September of last year, Bungie already expressed their insights about the upcoming expansion; noting that Destiny 2 will be a fresh start of their shooter-MMO series, which means that fans will be leaving their old characters behind.
