Samsung Announces LTE Version Of The Gear S3 Classic

Samsung unveiled two stylish and elegant smartwatches, the Gear S3 Classic and Gear S3 Frontier wearables have been deemed as one of the best smartwatches to date. Last Thursday, Samsung launched a new version of its Gear S3 Classic smartwatch that will feature 4G LTE connectivity. This adds the same optional functionality found on LTE version of the Gear S3 Frontier, which allows users to make and take calls, text, pay, navigate, pay and features including integrated GPS, wireless charging, heart-rate sensor and more without needing your smartphone.

Moreover, the LTE version of the Gear S3 classic will be available from AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile, with each carrier set to announce the pricing and availability. As a refresher, the Classic model sports a leather band and a more classic look and feel. Meanwhile, the Frontier is the ruggedized version, complete with a rubber watch strap. This will give those looking for LTE functionality in a smartwatch the option to choose between both the Gear S3 Classic and Frontier. However, according to a source, the LTE functionality does take a lot of juice out of the overall battery life of the watch depending how frequently you use the feature. Something buyers should consider before you buy.

Furthermore, There's no word yet on how much it will cost or when it will be available, but we do know AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile will offer it. Both the S3 Classic and Frontier , however, based on the pricing differences between the LTE and non-LTE Gear S3 Frontier, interested buyers would probably expect the price will play somewhere between $349.99 and $399.99 for the LTE version of the Gear S3 Classic, on top of roughly $10 a month for data from your preferred carrier, so it's likely the new model will be in that range.
