NFL Trade Rumors: Washington Redskins Trading Kirk Cousins? Will The Seahawks Cut Trevone Boykin And Sign Romo Or Manziel?

NFL trade rumors involving Kirk Cousins have been going around for a year now and it seems nothing is certain even as the NFL draft draws near. On his part, Cousins has made it clear that he still wants to play with the Washington Redskins. However, it seems that the feeling is not mutual with the honchos in Washington.

Are The Redskins Leaving The Cousins Era Behind?

This situation has spurred NFL trade rumors that Cousins will be traded to the San Francisco 49ers. If that happens, the star quarterback will be reunited with this former teammate Kyle Shanahan. Could this be the end of the Redskins' Kirk Cousins era? At any rate, the future of Cousins in Washington will be made clearer not later than July 15.

If the NFL Mock Drafts are to serve as an indication, it appears that the Redskins are really out looking for a quarterback replacement. Apparently, Washington is choosing Deshaun Watson of the Clemson Tigers as their No. 17 pick overall in the first round. According to some NFL trade rumors, that is a clear sign that the Redskins are ready to leave Cousins behind.

Are The Seahawks Looking For A Replacement For Boykin?

Meanwhile, other NFL trade rumors suggest that the Seattle Seahawks are looking for a new quarterback after Trevone Boykin was arrested for public intoxication and for marijuana possession. Team management stated that they are still gathering information but are disappointed with the Boykin situation.

A previous arrest reported last year also halted Boykin's college football career. For now, NFL trade rumors suggest the Seahawks have several names on their list as a replacement for Boykin. These names include Colin Kaepernick of the San Francisco 49ers, Johnny Manziel of the Cleveland Browns, and Tony Romo of the Dallas Cowboys.

After his arrest in college, Boykin's stock in the NFL Draft of 2016 went down. Even then, the Seahawks signed him up with a $1.625 million contract. That gave him a $540,000 base salary for 2017 and a projected $630,000 for 2018. It may be possible that future NFL trade rumors will come up indicating that the Seahawks may let him go.
