iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max Design Leak Shows Apple Pill-Shaped Display Replaces the Notch

Apple seems to be releasing the iPhone 14 with much-awaited design features.

The iPhone 13 was just released in September 2021, and just like that, the Apple team is already preparing for the new device. There has been a new leak on what the iPhone 14 will look like.

There has been multiple unconfirmed news about what features and upgrades the iPhone 14 would have. Most especially, people have been buzzing about the notch in its design.

iPhone 14 Apple Pill Design and Hole-Punch Cutout

Rumors of the alleged iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max design have resurfaced online with its new schematics.

In the rendered photo, the device is seen to have a pill-shaped design with a new hole punch that seamlessly blends in the phone.

The schematics that resurfaced on Twitter didn't shock numerous Apple enthusiasts since it has been rumored multiple times that the iPhone 14 Pro series could ditch the notch.

Jon Prosser, a known Apple leaker, was the one who first shared the rumored iPhone 14 photo to Twitter. This render originated from the Chinese social media app Weibo.

To support the claim, Prosser also mentioned that he was able to get a confirmation that the schematic leaked design is legitimate. It points out that the pill-shaped and hole-punch cutout is true based on his unnamed source.

As reported by 9to5Mac, the design analyst Ross Young tweeted that the features will be introduced in all models of the 2023 iPhone series with regard to the hole punch and pill shape cutouts. This means that the notch will be present on the two lower-priced iPhone 14 models.

iPhone 14 Full-Screen Display for FaceID

Since its introduction with the iPhone X, the notch has primarily served to house the TrueDepth camera system, which is responsible for enabling Face ID.

To prepare for the iPhone 14, it has been reported multiple times that Apple has been working on its iPhone notch design for quite some time now.

In a recent report, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stated that the company intends to integrate improved Face ID into the display beginning in 2023.

This improved FaceID feature implies a full-screen design without a notch, pill-shaped, or hole-punch cutouts.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, it is also added that the iPhone devices to come will have better FaceID recognition. This technology will be significant since it will allow users to authenticate their faces without removing their masks.

The newly improved FaceID is stated to have the capacity to recognize the distinctive features around the eye to authenticate.

According to MacRumors, the iPhone 14 lineup will consist of four models, two of which will be 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch in size.

The higher-end models, such as the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, will feature the new pill-shaped and hole-punch design.

Despite that, it is also expected that the entire iPhone 14 lineup will release a plethora of numerous iPhone upgrades. These upgrades include thinner camera bumps, circular volume buttons, and a new speaker grill reminiscent of the iPhone 4.
