Feeling Like You Belong at Hogwarts? Here Are 5 Harry Potter Spells To Cast on Google and Siri

Harry Potter is our favorite wizard living both in the muggle world of London and in Hogwarts. The "Harry Potter" books by J.K. Rowling captured all of our hearts and minds and converted the inner child into us to become wizards!

Rowling started writing the Harry Potter book series in the 90s. "Harry Potter and th Philosopher's Stone" was the first book published in the series that was released in 1997.

Rowling was then able to capture and amass an audience of children and children-at-heart adults. The seven books include "Philosopher's Stone" (1997), "Chamber of Secrets" (1998), "Prisoner of Azkaban" (1999), "Goblet of Fire" (2000), "Order of the Phoenix" (2003), "Half-Blood Prince" (2005), and "Deathly Hallows" (2007).

These books became such a success that Rowling was able to launch her published books through the big screens. In 2001, the first Harry Potter movie came out which starred Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, and many more.

Now that the whole era of Harry Potter has gone by, here are a few spells to cast as recommended by the New York Post  and HITC to unleash the witch or wizard nside of you!

Harry Potter Spells for Android and iPhone

For Google Assistant and iPhone users, both can use Harry Potter spells like Lumos and Nox.

  • For Android users, you can say "Hey Google, Lumos" or "Lumos"
  • For iPhone users, you can say "Hey Siri, Lumos" or just "Lumos" alone.

Just like in the movie, this spell provides light. Commanding Lumos would turn the light on for your Android or iPhone device.

Another Harry Potter spell that works just classically well for both Android and iPhone devices is the spell "Nox." Casting Nox will do the opposite of Lumos and turn off the flashlight of your devices.

  • For Android users, you can say "Hey Google, Nox" or users can directly say "Nox."
  • For iPhone users, you can say "Hey Siri, Nox" or users can directly say "Nox."

In addition, both Android and iPhone users can use "Silencio." If a device is not yet set on Silent mode, casting "Silencio" will lower the volume of your device.

  • For Android users, you can say "Hey Google, Silencio" or users can directly say "Silencio."
  • For iPhone users, you can say "Hey Siri, Silencio" or users can directly say "Silencio."

Depending on how to pronounce it, another cool spell that also gives that wizard feel is casting the spell "Accio."

  • For Android users, be clear in pronouncing "Accio." It's pronounced with a hard "k" as in "Akyo." Say "Accio" and the app you say next will open. You can say "Accio Facebook" or "Hey Google, Accio Facebook."
  • For iPhone users, you can say "Accio" plus the app you want to launch. You can say "Accio Facebook" or "Hey Siri, Accio Facebook."

An alternative to this spell is saying "Point Me" and then saying what you want to launch or locate.

  • You can say "Point Me to Gallery" and this would prompt Siri and Google to open it.
  • Some of the examples you can also say are "Point Me to Facebook" or "Point Me to Maps." These commands will open the apps you just mentioned.
