On the other hand, rumored to feature a new design, improved audio quality, and some possible plus fitness tracking capabilities, the tech giant is set to launch the second-generation AirPods Pro this fall. This is according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.
"Look out for new AirPods Pro in the fall. The current model has been on the market since fall of 2019, so the batteries are already probably in trouble for some early adopters. Also look out for an AirPods Max refresh with new colors (and, we hope, a price drop-$550 is absurd for those headphones)," Gurman wrote on Power On newsletter, as cited by 9to5mac.
Watch Out Apple Fans Because the New AirPods Pro Is on the Way
Apple fans should brace themselves because the new Airpods Pro 2 is coming.
According to 9to5mac, AirPods Pro 2 is expected to feature a new design as well as support for lossless playback for the first time.
Rumors also indicated that a new health management and fitness tracking feature is coming with the second-generation unit.
Gurman suggested in his latest Power On write-up that AirPods Pro 2 is coming sometime this fall.
According to his statement, it's been nearly three years past the original AirPods Pro launch, thus, perhaps the batteries are already probably in trouble for some early adopters.
Gurman also hinted that Apple is planning new colors for AirPods Max. He added that he would "hope" to see a price drop as well, however, Apple is not hinting at plans for any price drop yet.
Hopefully, Apple will do more than simply update the color options when it refreshes AirPods Max this fall, said 9to5mac, as the over-ear headphones lack support for lossless playback, both via wireless and wired playback.

What to Expect from AirPods Pro 2 Based on Rumors
If the rumors are correct, we could expect a fresh design, lossless audio support and other upgrades from Apple's AirPods Pro 2.

With AirPods Pro 2, it might be time to say goodbye to the white glossy stems that AirPods have had since their 2016 launch.
According to Bloomberg, the second-generation AirPods Pro could possibly have a more discreet, stem-free look similar to the Beats Studio Buds.
An updated motion tracking sensors intended for fitness tracking is an additional feature in Apple's AirPods Pro 2, according to Bloomberg.
It also seems possible that AirPods Pro 2 would have an improved battery life that would at least match, if not exceed, that of the AirPods 3.
We might also see the next AirPods Pro gain the AirPods 3's skin detect sensor. This can more accurately detect when an AirPod is making contact with the wearer's ear versus a different surface, as per the CNET report.
If the rumors are correct, we can expect a new design plus fitness tracking capabilities in the new AirPods Pro 2. These may be the biggest upgrades so far.
