Tesla Increases Hiring in Preparation To Semi Electric Truck Release

Tesla is ramping up production to ship its semi electric trucks this year.

The electric vehicle company has launched its Semi Service Program in an effort to boost their production by increasing its hiring.

Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, recently tweeted about releasing to the public the vehicles that have been unveiled to the general public.

Musk tweeted last month saying, "Tesla 500 mile range Semi Truck starts shipping this year, Cybertruck next year."

Tesla has already been using the electric trucks in its own fleet for a while now, but the automaker is expected to start delivering some units to customers for the first time.

As they proceed to release Tesla Semi Trucks to their customers, the company will need to deploy technicians in their branches to service those vehicles, whether it is to assist in shipping, address repairs, or both.

The Tesla Semi truck has been unveiled to the public since 2017. However, due to numerous production problems, such as the chip shortage and the lockdowns that the pandemic has brought, the vehicle has been delayed.

Tesla's Semi Service Program

Tesla is looking to hire experienced service technicians to support the growth of the Semi Service Program, according to electreck.

Tesla has made it clear that it is on the hunt for skilled technicians who are interested in taking their professional lives to the next level.

The EV company is looking to fill the positions of its technicians with individuals who have prior experience working in the HD trucking industry.

It is anticipated that these technicians will provide support for the Tesla Semi Fleet, which will be responsible for moving Tesla cargo between their own factories.

According to Tesla, the company is looking to hire individuals to create and maintain repair instructions that can be used by anyone who services a Tesla Semi Truck.

The job description will require working closely with engineering and development teams to provide immediate feedback on product iterations.

In addition, these technicians will be responsible for supporting the development of new products and services, and they will also be the first technicians to provide in-person service to their new customers at their new locations.

Tesla is planning to open up new locations to better serve its customers in the cities of Fermont, Modesto, Sacramento, and Central Valley in the state of California, as well as one location in Reno, Nevada.

The Tesla Semi Truck, as reported here in iTechPost, has had a few companies express their interest in buying the vehicles.

The Semi trucks have two different versions. The first one is a 500-mile version with a starting price of $180,000. The second one is a 300-mile Semi with a starting price of $150,000.

There are a few companies that have expressed interest in purchasing Tesla's Semi Truck. Some of these companies include FedEx, Walmart, United Parcel Service, Anheuser-Busch and DHL.

As reported, "When loaded to its maximum gross truck weight of 80,000 pounds, Tesla's Semi can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in about 20 seconds and has a maximum gross vehicle weight capacity of 80,000 pounds."

In addition, the Semi Truck also prides itself on providing cheaper energy expenses per mile traveled since it features four distinct motors in order to reach its maximum power and acceleration.
