Tesla Increases Hiring in Thailand in Preparation for the EV Launch

Tesla is expanding its hiring in Thailand.

Tesla continues to expand its reach around the world. This time, the electric vehicle company plans to launch its business in Thailand.

In part of that effort, the company is aggressively working towards attracting and hiring a pool for the first batch of Tesla employees in the country.

Tesla in Thailand

Tesla is definitely expanding its reach as it plans to continue its hiring efforts. The newly formed market team at Tesla has shifted their focus to Southeast Asia, more specifically in Thailand.

This information became public shortly after the electric vehicle company submitted paperwork to register its cars for sale within the country. That was the very first hint that Tesla intended to make its presence known in the market.

As reported by electreck, Tesla is now stepping up their efforts, as evidenced by the fact that they have posted 16 job openings located in Bangkok, Thailand.

In order to properly staff a new Tesla Center in Bangkok, jobs ranging from customer service advisor to store manager have begun to be available.

In addition, Tesla also posts job positions for several managerial positions to establish a wider presence in Thailand.

Some of the positions Tesla is opening are for a Senior Recruiter, Senior Accountant, Consumer Engagement Manager, and Public Policy & Business Development Manager.

Furthermore, another indication that Tesla is entering the market in Thailand is the hiring of talents related to its charging infrastructure.

According to the company's supercharger map, Tesla does not currently have any scheduled stations in the country of Thailand.

However, aside from managerial positions for a possible branch in Bangkok, the hiring spree shows some positions related to building out charging infrastructure.

Some of the positions are Charging Lead-Charging Infrastructure and Home Charging Developer.

Tesla in Thailand: Choosing the Market

Tesla's first branch in Southeast Asia will be in Thailand, if their plans go well. Thailand will become the first country to begin selling Tesla.

Apparently, the EV company chose Thailand as its next market due to its existing and thriving presence despite not having a direct branch in the country.

The Thai people have developed a greater level of familiarity with the brand. According to the same report by Electreck, there were more than 750,000 automobiles sold in the market last year, and it was anticipated that the number would increase to between 800,000 and 900,000 this year.

They were brought into the country privately by their respective owners, which is something that Tesla takes into consideration when deciding whether or not to enter a new market.

If a significant number of people are ready to import the vehicle despite the challenges involved, there is a good likelihood that there is a demand for the manufacturer's automobiles in the country.
