T-Mobile Moto X gets a software update

The Moto X on T-Mobile has received a software update, which will bring several improvements and bug fixes to the handset.

The Motorola Moto X has been one of the most anticipated smartphones of 2013. One of the key reasons that attracted many customers is the customizable feature of the handset. The Moto X is currently available via major carriers in the U.S. but only the T-Mobile version of the handset has received a software update so far. There is no news on whether the Moto X on other carriers such as AT&T, Verizon and more will also receive an update, so for now only T-Mobile customers can enjoy the new tweaks.

The latest update, which is available over-the-air (OTA), brings the current software to version "139.12.57.ghost_row.Retail.en.US."

Once you have upgraded to the latest version of the software you cannot downgrade to the original software version 139.11.6.ghost_row.Retail.en.US.

The software update is supposed to bring several improvements and bug fixes to the handset and one of the most notable improvements is related to the smartphone's camera, which addresses auto-white balance issues and now sports better capture of natural light on an image.

Furthermore, the software update will also enhance color accuracy for more precise exposure in outdoor and backlit conditions. Switching from the rear-facing camera to the front-facing camera and vice-versa will now be faster.

Following the latest update customers will also experience improved voice quality on calls.

"Fixed an issue that could sometimes result in choppy audio being heard by the person you're talking with on your Moto X," noted the software update change log.

The software update on the Moto X will also bring along a fix for a bug that sometimes caused the handset to read out text messages and announce calls when not in Drive mode.

You can visit Motorola Moto X support page to get full details of the change log and read step-by-step instructions on how to install the latest software update on your smartphone.
