The LG Watch Urbane is a stylish smartwatch with a circular display, coming as the successor to the LG G Watch R. The gadget sports a 1.3-inch P-OLED display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection and is widely considered one of the best-designed Android Wear smartwatches so far.
The Moto 360 received lots of praise for its design upon its debut, as it came with a round display that made it look more like a classical watch, while other smartwatches available at the time came with rectangular form factors. LG took note and launched its G Watch R with a circular form factor, and the LG Watch Urbane now improves on that recipe and adds extra style.
In terms of specifications, the LG Watch Urbane packs a 1.2GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, Bluetooth 4.0, and Wi-Fi connectivity thanks to its integrated wireless chip and the latest Android Wear version.
Coming in Rose Gold or Silver color options, the LG Watch Urbane is now available for $349 on the Google Store. Compared to other Android Wear devices, the price of the LG Watch Urbane is quite hefty, but the smartwatch has nonetheless stirred plenty of interest so far.
On the bright side, the LG G Watch R and the Moto 360 are now available at neat discounts, likely prompted by the launch of the LG Watch Urbane. The LG G Watch R now costs $249 instead of its previous $299 price tag, while the Moto 360 dropped from $299 to $179. Both the LG G Watch R and the Moto 360 will also get the latest version of Android Wear soon, which should improve their capabilities and performance.
It's worth pointing out, however, that the LG G Watch R will not gain Wi-Fi connectivity with the latest update, as hardware limitations do not allow it. The Moto 360, however, will get Wi-Fi connectivity.
All three smartwatches are quite capable and should deliver a good performance, but pricing may also have a big say in one's decision.
