Will The iPhone 7 Catch Up To The Sony Xperia XZ? Specs, Design Comparison

Sony's smartphone arm is definitely not as large and publicly well received as the handsets from Samsung and Apple. Despite this, however, Sony has kept afloat and continues to improve on its products release after release. The company's newest flagship, the Xperia XA, may even give the upcoming iPhone 7 a run for its money.

The Xperia XA

Sony has always been a player in the camera world. This technology seems to have been adopted into its new handheld, the Xperia XA, as BGR claims that the unit has one of the most advanced cameras in the market.

The Xperia XA boasts of an all-new triple image sensing technology - for auto focus, color sensing and distance sensing. Users also have the option to customize photos via the manual focus and the shutter speed adjuster.

The Xperia XA sports a 5.2 inch display, that is surrounded by Alkaleido metal and comes in Forest Blue, Mineral Black, and Platinum. The unit is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, which makes the device as powerful as other high-end units already in the market.

Its features include adaptive charging technology, USB Type C connectivity and a dual microphone.

The unit will be available in the US starting October 23, with other territories to follow. The price of the Xperia XA have not been disclosed.

The Expected iPhone 7

Meanwhile, Mirror UK notes that a dual camera is expected from the iPhone 7. Theoretically, the dual camera will allow users to take DSLR quality photos and even 3D images. However, this feature is only expected to arrive exclusively in the iPhone 7 Pro, so buyers looking to purchase the standard unit will not have this feature.

The new handheld from Apple is expected to come powered by the A10 chip and might sport an OLED screen and all glass casing.

The iPhone 7 is expected to officially launch within the next few days.
