'Kingdom Hearts 3' Release Update: Japanese Xbox Website Hints PS4-Exclusive In 2017; 'Kingdom Hearts 2.8' Prologue

"Kingdom Hearts 3" is set to arrive in 2017 after a decade since the "Kingdom Hearts" game released an update in the series. However, the game is reportedly going to be exclusive for PlayStation 4 as certain rumors suggest that the game will no longer be available for Xbox One.

"Kingdom Hearts 3" was previously announced to be launched for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. However, the upcoming game went missing from the Japanese Xbox website, which sparked rumors that it may no longer be released for Xbox.

The event may have caused disappointment for Xbox users, who were expecting the game, but did not come as a surprise with no previous installments ever released for Xbox One. Some gamers are still hoping that the removal of the "Kingdom Hearts 3" on the gaming website was only caused by some technical glitch.

The "Kingdom Hearts 3" game for Xbox One can still be spotted on the game's official Japanese website and the game is still available for pre-order at the Microsoft Store in North America. Developer and publisher Square Enix have not yet given any comments on these speculations.

Previously, "Kingdom Hearts 3" was not revealed at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) which surprised most of the fans as the announcement was highly anticipated. It was "Kingdom Hearts 2.8" which was unveiled at the event that is exclusively set for release to PlayStation 4 and presumably to Neo as well.

"Kingdom Hearts 3" was spotted with a $119.95 AUD price tag under the listing of Nintendo NX, the next generation console of Nintendo. The game was reportedly listed by EB Games Australia but has since been deleted quickly. This stirred questions on whether it was a mistake or was a real deal that was just listed earlier than planned. Meanwhile, watch the "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8" final chapter prologue E3 2016 trailer (UK) here.
