Microsoft Surface Book Inspired Laptop From Lenovo Is A Spot-On Alternative

The Surface Book was a huge hit when it came out last year. It might even be one of the rare times that a device made it big immediately at the first model. If there is one major drawback for others though, it might simply be the price.

But not a lot of people can deny the fact that the Surface Book's high price matches it high-end specs. So for people who adore the Surface Book but isn't all that committed to shell out so much cash, Lenovo has an alternative for you, The Lenovo Miix 510.

Surface Book And Lenovo Miix 510 Similarities

One of the things that the two devices have is that both of them have detachable screens, making both devices 2-in-1 machines. Lenovo's device may be more like a Surface Pro 4 but it is a "good PC" too, Windows Central reported. So it is definitely a good alternative for those looking to buy a 2-in-1 device that has Surface Book level specs.

Furthermore, like the Surface Book, the Miix 510 also has a big screen. The Miix device has a 12.2-inch display while the Surface Book has a 13.3-inch display. Both devices then have the same operating system, Windows 10 Pro.

Storage-wise, the two devices aren't so much different. The Surface book starts at 128 GB and it goes up to 1 TB. The Lenovo device on the other hand also has up to 1 TB storage. The Surface Book comes with 8 GB or 16 GB RAM, while the other device comes with 8 GB.

The Surface Book uses 6th Gen Intel Core i5 or i7 and the Lenovo Miix 510 is said to use up to 6th Generation Intel Core i7. Furthermore, both devices work with a pen. The Surface has Microsoft's Surface Pen while the Miix 510 also comes with Lenovo Active Pen.

The Surface Book may have more perks that it comes with compared to the Lenovo Miix 510, such as better display, more ports, sensors and more. But if all you're looking for is a good Surface clone, then the Lenovo-made device is a good one, Tech Radar stated.

The Surface Book starts at $1499 for its lowest model and it goes up to $3199 for its 1 TB version. The Miix device on the other hand starts at $920 with the keyboard and pen included.
