How To Fix PS4 Pro Noise And Overheating Issue

The PS4 Pro was just released a few weeks ago and some issues have already been reported, especially the noise its fan is making. Although the same problem was found in its predecessor, the sound can still get pretty annoying. If you're experiencing this kind of problem, here are some easy fixes you can do to stop that noise and enjoy your game using your new console.

The PS4 Pro consumes more energy than the PS4 Pro due to its 4K features. Thus, when you continuously play using 4K content, it is hotter than usual and the fan working overtime causing it to create louder noise. So if you don't really need 4K resolution, don't use it to save power and avoid overheating.

Good ventilation also helps avoid overheating. Make sure your PS4 Pro sits on a place where the air can directly flow without any blockages. You can also place a fan near it or put it in front of an air conditioner to keep the console cool while playing.

PS4 Pro owners have been reporting overheating problems just after using the console for just a day while some for as low as 6 hours only. If the problem persists, it is much better to bring it to the nearest service center or have it replaced with another one. However, it is reported that hardware damage because of overheating is not covered in the official warranty.

Aside from overheating, the PS4 Pro has some TV connection issues as well where the owners only get a sound without any images coming from their TV sets when plugging the PS4 Pro. But Sony's answer regarding this issue is very disappointing:

"“We are aware of the reports, but we encourage our users to first check their TV settings, firmware or HDMI to make sure that the TV is capable of supporting both 4K and HDR and that TV and PS4 Pro are connected appropriately," they said.
