Resident Evil 7 Update: VR Mode Features Headtracking

Virtual Reality mode for the upcoming Resident Evil 7 game has received an in-depth support after it was being announced that it will be adding a new feature called Headtracking. This reported feature will allow players to control the camera and peak around the corners.

According to the report from Game Rant, it was announced during the E3 2016 reveal trailer at Sony's press conference that virtual reality will be pushed as a major component for Resident Evil 7. However, months have passed, there are no reported update for the mode and was considered as Capcom's afterthought, since neither of the Beginning Hour Demo nor the Twilight Version patch supports the said feature.

The reported lack of attention on virtual reality for Resident Evil 7 might possibly give an impression that it was lazy. However, it seems like Capcom is currently giving the feature some love with the announcement of the new addition of Headtracking.

Based on the pro-active session with the game from different outlets at Tokyo Game Show 2016 back in September, it was reported that the virtual reality mode of Resident Evil 7 appears to have a more depth than on the surface. For instance, playing Resident Evil 7 in virtual reality, the new headtracking will enable players to engage themselves in the game even further.

In addition, it was reported that the headtracking feature for Resident Evil 7's virtual reality mode will be exclusive to PlayStation VR. That means, players are needed to use PS VR in order to control the in-game camera via the headtracking. Basically, the new headtracking will make the game even scarier since it allows players to move the camera freely whenever they are hiding. However, it should be even more effective if Capcom will implement it well.

Resident Evil 7 is scheduled for release on Jan. 24, 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. .
