'The Exorcist' Season 1, Episode 10 (Finale) Spoilers: Many Deaths Coming In The Demon And The Rance Family Final Showdown

"The Exorcist" season finale will be full of blood! Series creator Jeremy Slater teased the body count will be high in episode 10 which will feature a showdown between the demon and the Rance Family. Meanwhile, the church enemies will make their move against Pope Sebastian.

The official synopsis for the "The Exorcist" season 1, episode 10 says the demon will destroy Angela Rance and her family -- this means a lot of blood will be spilled and many characters will be killed maybe even in the first few minutes of the episode. "The Exorcist" episode 9 left off with a possessed Angela trying to kill Casey as Tomas arrived in the scene.

Slater said many characters would end up dead in the season finale. "There are definitely some shocking things coming up. There hasn't been a very high body count in the show thus far, and all of that is going to change in our finale," he said in an interview. He added that some characters will be put through a "wringer" and very intense and emotional scenes are coming up.

Marcus and Tomas will be the only hope for the Rance family. However, they will be used by the church enemies to kill Pope Sebastian. Fan speculations suggest the enemies will get Marcus possessed so he would kill the Pope. Meanwhile, the preview for "The Exorcist" season 1, episode 10 shows Tomas trying to drive away the demon from Angela's body.

Slater also said the finale will be the "craziest" episode they have done in the series. "In the editing room, we were saying it feels more like an episode of Lost or The Leftovers than anything else. It's incredibly ambitious and we're hoping we stick the landing, because we do feel that responsibility to our fans," he said.

"The Exorcist" season 1, episode 10 titled "Three Rooms" will air on Friday, Dec. 16 at 9 p.m. ET on FOX. Watch the preview below:
