Lenovo Unveils Its New AI-Powered Smart Glass C200 At CES 2017

Lenovo has finally unveiled its new AI-powered smart glass C200 at the biggest tech event, the CES 2017 held at Las Vegas. The C200 is Lenovo's first ever smart glass that managed to combine AR and AI together to help business improve their workflow as announced at CES 2017.

The C200 Specification

Lenovo's New Glass C200 operates with the help of user's smart phone. It consists of a lightweight glass unit which operates on the Linux Operating system and uses only one eye. It includes a Pocket Unit, which the user connects with their phone via a New Glass app. The company stated that this would allow the device to run with enhanced CPU performance and an LTE connection.

The unit is capable of gathering info in a user's field of vision, providing all the necessary guidance to the user like step by step instructions for repair and trouble shoot issues. All these are done hands free and would be performed by a remote colleague.

The C200 AI Recognition Feature

The best feature to this glass unit is its AI recognition software called Lenovo NBD Martin to collect and analyze data from the smart glass camera, sensors and user history. It aims to combine all the information with user's voice commands, gestures and selections to act as an assistant to carry out various activities and be able to provide information and perform the jobs as required.

The company is expected to provide the mass production in June 2017. The glasses are supposed to recognize about 20 different kinds of objects similar to building schematics in real life.

The C200 And The Rivals

The biggest competition that the New Glass would be facing is from the Vuzix M300, the ODG R-7 Smart Glasses and the Epson Moverio. Not only this, Apple is also planning to push its way to introduce its own smart glass that could be huge move towards AR market.
